Samsung collaborated with Corning to create Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, a next-generation material engineered specifically for slimmer devices. According to Samsung, this advanced glass solution incorporates crystalline structures into the glass matrix, helping improve crack resistance and structural strength — all without compromising display clarity or touch responsiveness.
“Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 features crystals intricately embedded within its glass matrix, enhancing the durability and crack deflection capabilities of the display cover,” Samsung said in an official statement.
Corning adds that the glass has been strengthened using its ion-exchange process, increasing durability under stress — a crucial innovation for a device expected to be exceptionally thin.
