Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 : Specs, Features & All you need to know

The next full-size folding smartphone from Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, is almost here.

Expected features of the next Galaxy Z Fold 6 include a bigger but thinner design and a new, more robust "Ironflex" display panel. Along with all the same Galaxy AI capabilities on the Galaxy S24 series, and maybe some new ones, you can anticipate the newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, which should offer improved performance and longer battery life.

The most recent Galaxy Z Fold 6 rumors are listed below.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Release Date

All three previous Galaxy Z Fold smartphones were released in August, even though some reports had them out sooner. The Z Fold 5 was unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked in late July, before it's August 11 release. A rumor suggests that an earlier launch, possibly on July 10, may have been intended to avoid the Summer Olympic games. It becomes more plausible that the Galaxy Unpacked Summer 2024 event will take place in July because Samsung is reportedly beginning to manufacture the Galaxy Z Fold 6's components ahead of schedule.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Price

Talk about a less expensive version in the style of Samsung's "fan edition" smartphones, such as the Galaxy S23 FE, has been around for a while. The price may be further reduced by a potential Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE with reduced specifications and no support for the S Pen.

But it's possible that rumors of a Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE were unfounded. Rumors say that Samsung is abandoning plans to launch the less expensive foldable due to worries that it won't be sufficiently thin or unique from the Z Fold 6 standard.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Design

In essence, it appears that the Z Fold 6 will adopt a larger aspect ratio for its cover screen and have a much slimmer form than its predecessor.

Although it is evident that Samsung is working on patents for a dockable S Pen, similar to the one shown on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, renderings of the phone do not have one, thus the feature may have to wait for a later model.

But the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy S24 Ultra may also share titanium sides and sharp edges. This would replace the metal used in earlier Z Folds, giving the new model a more upscale appearance and increasing durability. However, it might imply a higher price for the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

However, overall, the design resembles earlier Galaxy Z Fold models quite a bit. As opposed to the triple-folding phone that has been speculated to be released by Samsung this year. Although it seems smaller than the previous Galaxy Z Fold 5, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will feature an overall broader screen. Apart from that, it seems that Samsung's next Galaxy Z Fold model would resemble its previous products quite a bit.

Light pink, dark blue, and silver are the three primary color possibilities that we may see with the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Finally, the Galaxy Z Fold 6's size is rumored to be 5.6 mm thick when unfurled and 12.1 mm thick when folded.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Display

"Ironflex" is a phrase that appears to be trademarked by Samsung and describes a "foldable OLED display panel." It's unclear what this actually means in reality, and it could simply be a branding gimmick, but it would be great to see foldables more resistant to life's inevitable knocks and scratches.

The Z Fold 6 is said to be getting a significant revamp, which would alter how it's handled by taking on a squarish aspect ratio akin to the OnePlus Open's inner screen. This will cause the previous Z Folds' narrow cover screen to spread out a little bit more.

According to another source, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 may get a minor design update. The phone will have a more rounded edge and a larger design, coming closer to a full 90-degree angle.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Camera

There don't appear to have been any notable changes made to the cameras, at least not in terms of hardware. With a changeover coming in the 2025 phone, Samsung may choose to stick with the GN3 sensor for the Fold 6.

A more optimistic report claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 may get a new camera enclosure for its external lenses. This might indicate that, like the Galaxy S24 phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 would forgo a dedicated camera array in favor of lenses that protrude from the rear of the device.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Performance

A new generation of CPUs corresponds to a new generation of foldables. It would be astounding if the Z Fold 6 did not utilize the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, which is also utilized in the S24 series. Moreover, there was conjecture that Samsung would switch to Exynos 2400 chips in some areas. Samsung's next foldables might only use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

Presently, the Z Fold 5 comes with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of internal storage and 12GB of RAM. It seems doubtful that the Z Fold 6 will improve upon either of them, as the S24 Ultra did not.

It would be shocking if the foldable didn't have the same tricks up its sleeve, though, given that the Samsung Galaxy S24 embraces AI and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to use the same chipset. This entails, among other things, having the capacity to quickly interpret phone conversations, summarize papers, and modify photos.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Ultra-Model

It's also possible that Samsung is developing a second foldable, a more expensive model called the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra. This might be an intriguing addition considering how Samsung could be able to take advantage of some of the distinctive characteristics of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, including the S Pen, titanium frame, and maybe a bigger 200MP camera. However, not much is known about this Ultra model as of now.

In conclusion, with the last months leading up to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 debut drawing near, more information about the Fold 6 will be released and verified. Stay tuned!
