Last month, Sammobile exclusively reported that Samsung will unveil its next set of foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6, on July 10, 2024. Additionally, it was confirmed that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Although there was no confirmation about the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s chipset at that time, new information has emerged.
The carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, identified by the model number SM-F956U, has appeared on Geekbench. The listing confirms that the device will indeed feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It also reveals that Samsung's forthcoming flagship foldable phone will come equipped with 12GB of RAM and will run Android 14, likely paired with One UI 6.1.1.
In the Geekbench tests, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 scored 1,964 points in the single-core test and 6,619 points in the multi-core test. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC scored 1,943 points in the single-core test and 5,123 points in the multi-core test.
These results indicate a marginal improvement in single-core CPU performance and a significant enhancement in multi-core CPU performance for the upcoming model. Consequently, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to deliver considerably faster performance in CPU-intensive tasks.
We hope that Samsung will also release a variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with 16GB of RAM, which would likely satisfy many users. As the launch date approaches, we anticipate an increase in leaks, providing more information about the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
