In the perennial tradition of Samsung flagship leaks, the rumored Galaxy S24 and S24 Ultra details have surfaced ahead of their anticipated launch. Official Samsung images obtained by Windows Report showcase the S24 Ultra sporting a revamped flat-screen design, confirming an earlier leak by Twitter user David Martin. The images reveal sharper screen edges, departing from the gentle curves of its predecessor, and introduce a sleek new gray color finish.
Recent leaks suggest that Samsung is set to unveil on-device generative AI software, powered by its Gauss model, on the upcoming S24 devices. The AI technology is expected to provide real-time translation in messaging apps across more than a dozen languages. Additionally, a new AI-powered "Zoom Anyplace" camera framing feature, demonstrated by Samsung in October, is likely to be integrated into a future device.
The FCC recently published crucial processor and modem specifications for the S24 line, indicating Qualcomm modems with Smart Transit functionality. This suggests that, at least in the US, all S24 models, including the S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra, will be equipped with the new on-device AI-capable Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chips. However, there remains a possibility that international versions of the standard S24 might feature Samsung's own Exynos processors and modems.
The S24 Ultra, aside from the flatter screen and faster processor, boasts a titanium frame, an upgraded 50MP 5x telephoto camera, improved vapor chamber cooling, and Wi-Fi 7 capabilities. Other leaked specifications indicate similarities to the previous S23 Ultra model, including a 6.8-inch Quad-HD screen, 120Hz refresh rate, 12GB of RAM, and a 5,000mAh battery.
Meanwhile, the standard Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus models, as revealed in a September leak, maintain a design similar to their S23 counterparts. However, they introduce new color finishes such as onyx black, marble gray, cobalt violet, and amber yellow. The S24 Plus sees improvements in screen size at 6.7 inches, a larger 4,900mAh battery, and increased RAM at 12GB. The regular S24 experiences modest upgrades with a slightly larger 6.2-inch screen and a 4,000mAh battery.
While Samsung has not officially announced the successor to the Galaxy S23 line, if history holds true, these leaks may signal an imminent unveiling at a Samsung Unpacked event early next year.
